let’s hear it for new yankee-killers Dustin Pedroia and Jacoby Ellsbury. Add in A-Rod to the mix next year and the sox will be a Yankee-killer organization for the next decade. Magic number is at 9.

best case the sox get the number down to 5 on Sunday after the ESPN game. Worst case, they knock 1 or 2 off the magic number. That is all that matters at this point. Dice-K needs a rebound start for us tomorrow night. Go Sox.

Going Pink with the Sox

The sox got their pink bats on with a dramatic 6-5 victory over the defensively hapless O’s yesterday afternoon. I woke up just in time to watch V-Tek get us within one run, then cheered on the home team as they scored twice more to overtake the O’s and plant themselves a solid 8 games over the Yanks and Orioles.

That is a look of “what the heck just happened.” No control = no chance last night for the Dice-K-man. Fortunately the Red Sox bats took care of the rest, including our old pal mannybeingmanny, coming through with a couple bombs. We’ll take the win and move on.

What’s Wrong with Rivera?

Mariano Rivera, the Yankees’ future hall-of-fame closer is hurting. I am surprised that nothing has been said about it yet, but he cannot locate pitches, has no cut on his dominating cutter and looks vincible. He barely scratched out his first save of the season on Saturday. He certainly doesn’t scare anyone coming out of the pen anymore.

Maybe it is a confidence thing, but something ain’t right. I am guessing bad back, which has plagued him more than once before. As a Sox fan, this is good news, but for Yankee fans, this is bad news and then some.

Sox dominate

The Red Sox just finished up another dominating performance over the now seriously struggling New York Yankees. Paps slammed the door in the 9th to stay perfect for yet another April.

And Manny is hitting right around .200…. scary.
